General information
After water damage, mold, sewage or other contaminants are removed from an environment, our consulting team can conduct Post-Remediation Verification (“PRV”). PRV involves first completing a physical assessment to ensure all areas impacted have been addressed. Using a microscope or other diagnostic tools or testing, we determine if surfaces and air have been satisfactorily cleaned of the contaminants. If additional cleaning is warranted, we will provide guidance to the layperson or restoration contractor conducting the work. A final report of our observations and testing results will be provided.
Our Services
Water Damage and Mold Remediation Verification
Post-Remediation Verification services following remediation of fungal growth nearly always includes a physical assessment of the work area and adjacent spaces, moisture testing of building materials, and surface and air testing for fungal growth. The air and surface samples are analyzed on-site using a microscope by a trained microscopist to provide instant results.
Sewage Loss Remediation Verification
Sewage contains fecal bacteria, such as E. coli, and may contain harmful viruses, such as viruses that cause hepatitis. Affected surfaces must be cleaned and disinfected. Unfortunately, surfaces can appear clean but may have been missed during the restoration. To ensure proper disinfection has been completed, testing of the affected surfaces can be completed. Our most common service includes completing a physical assessment and surface testing using an ATP luminometer. This device tests for the presence of the biological chemical ATP, which is present in all living cells. The ATP luminometer provides test results within seconds and is used to quickly screen an area to determine if surfaces were disinfected. Additional swab testing of surfaces for laboratory analysis of fecal bacteria can also be completed. Laboratory tests will require several days for results.
